Addressing Mental Health in High Achievers
Having done very well in his career, being NEET 2017 Topper and also being a doctor, it is sad that Dr. Navdeep Singh met such a pathetic end, making people contemplate on how, there must be many high achievers with mental health problems who suffer in vain. To the outside observer or family and friends there was no indication of stress or pressure being applied, it goes to prove that such cases underlines that it is very important that mental health support networks remain intact no matter how successful one may be.
The community’s shock was captured aptly by Kapil Sharma, the Principal of Government Senior Secondary School located in Tamkot village. He said that Navdeep was admired as role model for the youths as he was all India NEET 2017 Topper . His father Gopal Singh himself was a Physics teacher and his son had inclination towards science and medicine and he had only nurtured this fantasy of his son to become a marvelous doctor of the country, but again, such a loss did not warn anyone. Navdeep had seemed quite alright the other day when he was talking to his father and this has left those in contact with the young man utterly confused.
When discussing the case of high achievers, this is a painful example of how much pressure such individuals are exposed to. Although the case of Dr Navdeep, NEET 2017 Topper can be considered the success story, his death should be viewed a sad reminder of the relevance of mental health issues, particularly for those who shoulder the expectations. It is crucial these support systems are more pronounced in institutions where there is the high demand for success thus stressing the need for adequate emotional and mental health services for the students and other professionals.
